Nottingham Forest are moving for Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson.

Jenkinson played just eight times for the Gunners last term but has featured regularly in pre-season.

The defender is available for around £5million but it is unclear whether Forest would attempt to take him on a loan basis instead, says the Guardian.

Negotiations are underway and Jenkinson could drop down to the second tier before Thursday's transfer deadline.

Crystal Palace have also been linked with a swoop for the 27-year-old
