Nottingham Forest, Cardiff chasing Man Utd keeper Sam Johnstone

Nottingham Forest and Cardiff City are chasing Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

The Daily Mail says United have already turned down bids for Johnstone from Aston Villa, Fulham, Wigan, Huddersfield and Bristol City during the window but the Championship rivals are hoping to conclude a loan before the window closes.

Jose Mourinho has been impressed by the 23-year-old and his attitude. He believes Johnstone has a future at United and can push David de Gea and Sergio Romero but needs more competitive experience first.

"My job is to show that I can do it," said Johnstone. "Hopefully, he trusts me to do it because I'm learning every day from him as well. He is a very experienced manager, a good guy and a great coach. There are a lot of games coming up and I've always got to be ready. Anything can happen in football."
