Norwich City winger Anthony Pilkington has been forced out of the Republic of Ireland's World Cup double header in a fortnight.
The free-scoring midfielder suffered a hamstring injury in Norwich's goalless draw with Southampton.
He has already been withdrawn from the Ireland squad which will face Sweden and Austria at the end of the month.
