Norwich target Walters eager to stay with Stoke

Jon Walters has stated that he wants to stay put at Stoke City, amid rumours linking him with a move to Norwich City.

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the future of Walters and it seemed certain that the forward would be leaving Stoke after he recently slammed the club for not offering him an acceptable contract.

However, Walters has now gone on to state that he is very happy at the Britannia Stadium and is desperate to remain rather than head to Carrow Road or anywhere else.

The 31-year old said: "I want to stay. I've been here five years, this is my sixth season and it's the longest I've been at any club."

"When you've been here so long you get to know not just the players, even though there's been a huge turnaround, but the whole club and everyone involved. I've got a lot of friends here."
