Norwich seek outright deal for Birmingham's Taylor

Norwich City boss Glenn Roeder is keen to sign permanently on-loan Birmingham defender Martin Taylor.

Roeder told the club's official website: "I'm going to sit down and talk to him. I've had a chat with Alex McLeish, and I know he (Taylor) spoke to McLeish on Thursday at the training ground.

"I think he gave him an indication that they are prepared to listen to offers and he didn't have a big future at Birmingham, so they wouldn't stand in his way if he could get fixed up as such. So that was encouraging for us when I speak to Martin.

"At the moment I would like to be able to extend the loan to January 1 then that would buy us some time to then talk about anything more permanent thereafter. There are a couple of other clubs interested in him since he's been with us. Other Championship clubs."
