Norwich City striker Simeon Jackson and FC Dallas' Julian de Guzman are among the names in Stephen Hart's Canadian squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
The Canucks host Cuba in Toronto on October 12 before heading to San Pedro Sula to take on Honduras four days later as they look to advance to the fourth round of CONCACAF qualifying.
Hart has named a 21-man squad for the double header with Jackson and de Guzman set to lead the team in an attacking sense following the season-ending knee injury to Dwayne de Rosario.
The Canada boss has been planning next week's clash with Cuba since the 2-0 loss to Panama last month and he hopes that his players , particularly the more experienced ones, can do a job as the possibility of heading to Brazil in 2014 looms near.
"My discussions with the squad right after the Panama game were about Cuba and will continue to be that," he said.
"They (the veterans) know that so they're going to everything to galvanize the squad and do what is necessary. And what is necessary is the first game against Cuba and then we can worry about anything after that."
