Norwich players facing 50% wage cuts

Norwich City players face 50 per cent wage cuts when they're relegated.

Daniel Farke's doomed side are seven points off the pace with just five games to go, ahead of a must-win clash against Watford on Tuesday night.

The Sun says star players Max Aarons, Todd Cantwell and Emi Buendia were handed bumper new deals last summer and with most of their squad earning between £25,000 and £30,000-a-week, they can expect to see that slashed in half if, as expected, they go down.

Following the reduction - if they are relegated - Norwich players will earn between £12,500 and £15,000 which is still above the Championship average of £10k-a-week.

The report details that the average weekly salary of a Premier League player is £61,000, though at Manchester City it is more than double that figure.

Premier League players generally have relegation cuts ranging from 25-40 per cent.
