Norwich City midfielder Mario Vrancic is ready for Liverpool for the first game of the new season.

Vrancic will fulfil a lifelong dream by playing in the Premier League and he cannot wait for the opening day clash with Liverpool which will see a reunion with his former boss at German club Mainz, Jurgen Klopp.

After penning a new two-year deal, he told the club's website: “It's not just a dream of a mine but a dream of many players. All players want to play in the Premier League.

“For me, it will be nice to play an opening game against my former coach. We know how tough it will be but we want to do well.

“It's important to enjoy these moments but we won't go there just to visit the stadium or enjoy the atmosphere. We want to go there and collect some points.

“We should use the confidence and momentum we have from last season. Other teams may underestimate us because we are a new team in the league but we have lots of confidence that we can use."
