Norwich City's Anthony Pilkington is under a fitness cloud for Republic of Ireland's friendly with Latvia on Friday.
The Canaries midfielder suffered a knock to his leg during their 3-1 win over West Ham United on the weekend and is now in doubt for Martin O'Neill's first match as the new national team manager.
"Anthony Pilkington has emerged as an injury doubt after coming off during Norwich's clash against West Ham on Saturday with a dead leg," said a Football Association of Ireland spokesman.
"He will remain with his club until Thursday while his progress is monitored."
Ireland meet Latvia at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on Friday before heading to Poznan to take on Poland in another friendly on Tuesday.
