Norwich midfielder Mario Vrancic We deserved Spurs point

Norwich City midfielder Mario Vrancic says they deserved their point from drawing 2-2 with Tottenham.

Norwich lead twice and had a goal ruled out after a lengthy VAR deliberation but Spurs came from behind in the second-half to take a point.

"We were close to getting all three points and went ahead twice, but we shouldn't forget we played against a really decent side who played in the Champions League final six months ago," he said. “To gain a point is quite good for us.

“We were prepared for their build-up and knew they would play through the centre. We could have scored more.

“Grant Hanley and Christoph Zimmerman made some great blocks today, especially in the second half. They're big fellas so that's their job to do.

“We can build from this because our performance was great, even though we didn't have much luck. With Teemu Pukki's goal, normally we'd have gone 2-0 up but VAR went against us. We fully deserved the point.

“It's not my job to comment on VAR, but it's very unfortunate that it always affects us in the wrong way. I don't think we've had any penalties from it so far. I wasn't sure about awarding Christian Eriksen's free-kick because of a foul on Jamal Lewis."
