Norwich matchwinner Idah deflects praise to Williams for assist after Everton win

Norwich City matchwinner Adam Idah deflected praise to Brandon Williams for his assist after victory over Everton.

The Republic of Irelad international striker led the line superbly for the Canaries, netting the decisive second goal on 18 minutes following a brilliant through ball from on-loan Manchester United defender Williams.

However, Idah said the victory was down to an excellent all-round team performance.

"Everyone played their part today," he said to canaries.co.uk after the game. "Whether it was the attackers or defenders, we all did well and we grinded out the result.

"That's what we needed in a game like today. We need to build on this now and go from here.

"We're really confident as a club. We believe that we're good enough to stay in this league.

"We just need to get as much wins as we can and get as many points as we can."

Reflecting on his first Premier League goal, Idah said: "It's a great feeling for me, obviously to do it at home as well - it's my first (Premier League) start at Carrow Road. It's an amazing feeling, I've wanted it for a long time.

"I'm over the moon to score, but even more to get three points today.

"Brandon has been excellent all season. Today, we spoke before the game and he said he's going to give me an assist. So it worked out quite well."
