The Finn struck late for the 2-0 win.
“It was a great ball from Mathias [Normann]," he told the club's website. “The first touch surprised me as well! It was so good I had loads of time to think what I was going to do.
“It was a good goal and an important one for us to kill the game.
“We did well, all of us from the defence to the offence and the midfield. We deserved three points, so it was important for us to get them.
“We need to go into every game to win three points. We really want to stay in this league and we have to do what it takes.
“We know we have a good team with good players. It's just up to us to show it every week and today we did. We need to show it next weekend as well in a tough game against Manchester United, but we need to go there to take points and we need all our players to do it."
“We knew it's hard to play against Burnley," Pukki said. “They give loads of crosses and we dealt with them well. We didn't let them have big chances and, when they did, Tim made some great saves and defenders made blocks, especially in the first half after those sets pieces. Our defence did well so we can be happy with that.
“You can name all of us today, everyone did a great job. Pierre [Lees-Melou] got his first goal which keeps him confident.
“He will be an important player for us in the rest of the games, like all the others, so that's what we need - many players to score goals to get points.
“We needed to give the fans some positivity and belief. We did a great job of that and they supported us really well today. We need them if we want to stay in this league. There are still games to go and we need them behind us to do the job."
