Norwich City goalkeeper Tim Krul says the reception he received from Newcastle United fans at St James' Park earlier this year 'felt amazing'.
Krul spent 12 years on Tyneside before joining Brighton in 2017.
"Newcastle is where it all started for me," Krul told Match of the Day magazine.
"It is a big part of my life. There was amazing moments - ups and downs - but it made me the goalkeeper that I am today, that's for sure.
"It was weird because it feels so home to play at St James'. It felt amazing, actually, because the fans were genuinely appreciative so it was nice.
"Normally at away grounds you get abuse and people shouting at you but I knew the Geordies would be all right with me."
