Norwich forward Lafferty back to the drawing board as Sion move falls through

Norwich City striker Kyle Lafferty has been left high and dry after his loan move to Swiss club Sion fell through just a day before the transfer deadline.

The Northern Ireland international has found himself out of favour at Norwich this season and is in search of regular playing time ahead of the summer's European Championships.

Lafferty has seen Steven Naismith and Patrick Bamford arrive at Carrow Road recently and is intent on making the move to a club where he can enjoy more regular minutes on the pitch.

That appeared to be the case with former side Sion, where he spent time in 2012/13, but any potential deal is now reportedly dead.

The 28-year-old, who scored seven goals in his country's historic qualifying campaign, now faces a race against the time to secure a move ahead of close of the window on Monday night.
