Norwich City captain Russell Martin says Jonny Howson deserves England recognition.
Martin believes Howson is capable of the step up.
"In my opinion he could play at international level eventually. I really think he is in that bracket without a doubt," he told the Pink 'Un. "I've always said it about Jonny that he is a top player. He has been brilliant for us so far this season and the biggest compliment you can pay Jonny is that he makes the hard things look really easy. He is a really easy on the eye footballer. His strength is getting forward and getting on the ball. He has got a few goals this season already and I expect him to get a lot, lot more before the end of the season. I think you are seeing the real Jonny Howson in terms of what sort of player he is.
"He is such a great lad. If he was any more laid back he would be horizontal. He trains really hard, he is a great professional and he captained Leeds at a really young age so that shows you the type of character he is. He is quiet by nature but I can't speak high enough of him really as a player and a person. Hopefully he can get that recognition."
