Norwich captain Hanley delighted to score in FA Cup win

Norwich City captain Grant Hanley was delighted to score in their FA Cup win at Burney.

Hanley planted a firm header past Clarets' goalkeeper Joe Hart to silence a section of the home support who had been jeering the ex-Blackburn Rovers defender for most of the contest.

Josip Drmic doubled City's lead minutes later, before Erik Pieters made it a nervy ending with a reply 20 minutes from time.

But City held on to secure their passage through to round five for the first time since 2012.

Speaking to canaries.co.uk, Hanley said: “Especially [scoring] at that end in front of that section of the crowd that were giving me a bit of stick, it was nice.

“It's probably one of the most satisfying feelings I've had in football for somebody that doesn't score many.

“You get stick on the pitch and it's the only way to answer them. I'm pleased with it.

“It's massive for us. It's good to get into the next round of the competition but I think every game we go into, we want to get a result and we want to put in a good performance."
