Norwich cap ticket price for home supporters

Newly-promoted to the top-flight Norwich City have capped all casual tickets for their home Premier League fixtures at UK£30 (US$38) ahead of the 2019/20 season, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

Every league game at the club's Carrow Road stadium will see 1,500 tickets made available for fans alongside their 22,000 season ticket holders, with the UK£30 figure matching the Premier League's cap on away ticket prices which was introduced in 2016.

In order to be eligible for the casual ticket prices, fans will need to sign up to its membership scheme, with a premier membership costing UK£50 (US$63). Last season's members will receive a UK£10 (US$13) discount, though some long-term fans have criticised the scheme for not factoring in their loyalty. A similar system will also be introduced for away tickets.

Ben Kensell, Norwich City's chief operating officer, said: "We believe as a football club that we have phenomenal support and we shouldn't price people out of football. So as a club, we decided that if £30 is fair for away supporters, then £30 is also fair for home supporters considering the price of a home ticket last time we were in the Premier League.

"No one in the ground from a general admission perspective next season will pay more than £30. That, as a club, sets us apart and we're really proud of that. We think it's the right thing to do."
