North Queensland Fury are still desperate to retain marquee striker Robbie Fowler and will do everything they can to achieve that.
Fury's football operations manager Robbie Middleby says the club is in constant contact with the former Liverpool star and are hoping they can come up with a solution to hold onto him but he admitted if the Townsville-based outfit were unable to do so, the next best thing would be for Fowler to end up elsewhere in the A-League.
"I spoke with Robbie last night and we'll do everything to keep him in Townsville, but it's the money factor," Middleby said.
"He is just a very special person and still a great footballer who others can learn from.
"If we (Fury) can't keep him then the second-best thing is for Perth or Sydney to have him."
