Nolan urges Newcastle fans not to panic

Newcastle United midfielder Kevin Nolan has urged fans not to panic after their home defeat to Blackpool.

Nolan is hoping that supporters can retain a sense of perspective, in the same way they did after the thumping 6-0 win over Aston Villa last month.

"We didn't get too carried away two weeks ago, and we're going to ask the fans to do the same again," he told the club's website.

"We're going to ask them to stay with us. We knew there were going to be times like this throughout the season - it's happened earlier than what we wanted or anticipated but we've got 34 games to go.

"We're not going to start worrying. We're just going to keep doing the right things, keep chomping at the bit and hopefully keep building this club slowly but surely.

"We've got to look at the big picture here and we've got to realise where we've come in such a short time over the last two years. We're delighted to be back but we know how tough it's going to be to remain here."
