Noel Gallagher says too soon for Man City to talk top four

Noel Gallagher says a top four finish is an unrealistic goal for Manchester City this season.

Mark Hughes was replaced by Roberto Mancini by City's owners this week over concerns they wouldn't qualify for next season's Champions League.

City mad Gallagher told TalkSport: "I think where we are today - sixth on the table - if we win a game and go up to fifth, that's probably where we deserve to be and I think if we can stay there until the end of the season, we'll be doing alright I think.

"It was never going to happen overnight anyway. I think it was just asking too much to give him all that money and say 'get us in the top four' - it doesn't work like that. If it was that easy, everybody would be doing it. There has to be more skill involved in a manager than just going out and buying the best players."
