LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena says there is no specific date set for Steven Gerrard's much-awaited arrival.

The star midfielder has finished up with Liverpool after 710 matches with the Merseyside club but will take a break before moving to MLS where he will link up with reigning champions the Galaxy sometime this summer.

"He'll take a little time off right now," said Arena of Gerrard.

"We haven't formalized a date yet [for his arrival]."

Gerrard, 34, is eligible to join the Galaxy when the summer transfer window opens on June 8 but as Arena says, no specific date has been set for the Liverpool legend's arrival in Carson, California.
