No compensation for FFA over Advocaat walk-out

Football Federation Australia will not be receiving any compensation for when Socceroos coach-in-waiting Dick Advocaat walked out on the job. Advocaat had signed a two and a half year contract in August last year but reneged on his contract after his club, Zenit St Petersburg offered him a more lucrative deal.

Football's governing body, FIFA, have said they will be taking no further part in the matter which leaves only one option left for the FFA; a trip to the Court of Arbitration in Sport.

A statement sent to The Daily Telegraph from FIFA revealed: "FIFA notified the relevant parties on 14 November 2008 that due to a clear arbitration clause contained in the contract between Dick Advocaat and the Australian Football Federation, the FIFA Players Status Committee did not have jurisdiction to act on this case."

It is believed the FFA believed they had a warranted case on their hands but FIFA have effectively put that to rest.
