Nigeria press officer confident that West Brom's Odemwingie will be back in national team soon

West Bromwich Albion striker Peter Odemwingie will be back in the Nigeria squad sooner rather than later.

The 29-year old was left out of the Super Eagles squad to face Argentina in next month's international friendly and the 2012 Africa Nation's Cup qualifier against Ethiopia.

Head coach Samson Siasia accused Odemwingie of departing the Nigeria squad without permission in March, hence the reason he was omitted.

But the national team's press officer, Colin Udoh, is confident that the Baggies star will be back playing international football in no time.

"The player has just been left out for a couple of games and, knowing him as well as I do, I can assure you that he will be looking to get back into the squad for the next Nigeria game," said Udoh.

"We haven't really spoken since the incident. We just swapped text messages before he went on holidays, but Osaze (Odemwingie's Nigerian name) will soon be back playing for Nigeria."
