Niculae may quit Inverness Caley

The Romanian international's signed on a two year deal last July and has scored nine goals this season. However, he admits his future hangs in the balance.

"It is too early to speak about if I stay or get a move. I would be happy to stay and I think I have done well at the club. Maybe I can do better next year.

"I will make a decision at the end of the season. Maybe I will see out the second year of my contract or maybe I will leave. I do not know yet but I have enjoyed playing in Scotland.

"When I went to the Home Office to get a work permit I told them I was coming to Scotland to play and get back into the Romanian national team. It has worked out and that has been the most important thing."

The 26-year-old scored and set up another when he was recalled to the national team for last month's friendly with Russia and conceded that getting into the Euro 2008 squad is his number one target.

"We have five more games and I hope to do well and score a few more goals. I know it will not be easy and I hope my colleagues will help me. I want to make sure the team finishes as high as possible in the league.

"All my concentration is on the remaining games and I need to make some headlines and impress the national team manager.

"For any player, their wish is to play in a major competition. I was happy after my performance against Russia but it was not enough.

"It was my first time back in the Romanian squad for two years and it was brilliant to score.

"I know that it is not enough and I need to be in top form for the manager to pick me for Euro 2008."
