After almost a month in Saudi Arabia, the Queensland Roar's Young Socceroos quintet has returned home and are ready for A-League action. Mitch Nichols, Tommy Oar, Isaka Cernak, Luke DeVere and Tahj Minniecon all returned to training this morning, boosting the playing stocks of the fifth-placed Roar ahead of their important clash with Perth Glory this week.
Nichols, who starred for the Young Socceroos in the U19 Asian Cup was happy to be back in Australia with his young team mates, all exuding newfound confidence.
"We'll see how the week goes and hopefully I'm in the mix," the 19-year-old said.
"We (the Roar) won the last two out of three games so there's no need for a drastic change but if the gaffer feels like he needs some fresh players we're ready to play.
"We're all fit and have come back with some confidence so hopefully we can go out there and get a game."
