Nice coach Favre admits ex-Arsenal midfielder Ramsey yet to return since World Cup

Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has gone missing from Nice.

Ramsey was part of a Wales squad who were playing in the tournament for the first time since 1958 and were keen to at least advance from the group phase.

Instead Robert Page's side failed to win a game, following a draw with USA and a catastrophic stoppage time defeat by Iran before being eliminated by England in a 3-0 defeat, with the 32-year-old a key player in the side.

Nice coach Lucien Favre insists Ramsey has still not returned to the side based in the south of France in the wake of Wales' traumatic exit, revealing that he has also not spoken to the 32-year-old.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of his side's return to action against Lens in the French top flight on Thursday, Favre believed the World Cup exit was still affecting the former Arsenal and Juventus midfielder when questioned on his availability for the game.

"No, he didn't come back," he said. "I think the World Cup was hard for him to digest. We'll see after.

"No [I haven't spoken to him]. I could, but... There you go. I answered... He was very disappointed with the World Cup. He takes his time to really recover. That's what."
