Newcastle youngster Lucas de Bolle ready for Hamilton return

Newcastle United talent Lucas de Bolle is on the verge of making a comeback from injury.

The youngster, who signed a two-year deal with the Magpies before going out on loan to Scottish side Hamilton Academials, was dealing with a concussion.

He made only one appearance this season, but could not play more due to after effects from a concussion he suffered while he was at Newcastle.

Newcastle play development coach Elliott Dickman told ChronicleLive: "Lucas has had some issues regarding a concussion. He is now back fit, he had a few things to get ticked off by the medical department. Our medical department have been brilliant with him, as have Hamilton.

"They've liaised really well and professionally, Peter Ramage from the loan department has done a really thorough job communicating between Hamilton and ourselves. He's had a little bit of time with us training, that's what he needed from a medical point of view to tick a few more boxes.

"It was great seeing him as we hadn't seen him for a while. Lucas adds a lot of quality to everything that we do. He's travelled back up to Scotland, and it's now dependent on whether they select him or if he's match fit. He's trained with us for a few days, he's done really well so hopefully he's on the road to getting on the pitch."
