Newcastle United are yet to hold talks with Peter Kenyon about his group's takeover plans.
The Evening Chronicle says a fortnight on from promises from sources close to Kenyon that he was back in the running to buy out Newcastle, the club are yet to engage in any new talks with the would-be Magpies owner.
Kenyon continues to insist he has the funds to broker a takeover and Mike Ashley is open to a fresh approach. But there's been no progress despite talk of a ten day window in which a decision would be made.
As reported previously, there's plenty of interest in buying Newcastle with groups across Europe but none are ready to move at Ashley's current asking price.
