Newcastle winger Cabella set for permanent Marseille switch

Remy Cabella expects to leave permanently leave Newcastle United for Marseille this summer.

The 25-year-old winger left Montpellier to join the Magpies in the summer of 2014 but returned to France when joining Marseille on a season-long loan in August last year.

Since his move to the Stade Velodrome, Cabella has scored five goals in 31 appearances in all competitions and believes OM will pay the transfer fee required to land him on a less temporary basis from Newcastle.

"Yes there is the option to buy, this is what was expected from the start," Cabella told Foot Mercato.

"I think it will be activated. Normally I [expect to be at] Marseille next season. I am happy. I have adapted well.

"I get along great with the club, the staff and all the players. There is a great atmosphere. Now I want to help this club back to the highest level."
