Premier League clubs are eyeing Fenerbahce defender Attila Szalai for the January market.

Türkiye Gazetesi says Leicester City, West Ham United and Newcastle are all keen on landing the defender whose contract runs to 2025. At 6ft 4in, Szalai is a towering defender who is also comfortable with the ball at his feet, something which Eddie Howe demands from his centre-backs.

At just 24-year-old, Szalai also has plenty of experience too despite his age. He has already won 31 international caps for Hungary and has featured heavily for Fenerbahçe over the last three seasons.

While centre-back is not necessarily a position Newcastle need to recruit in the immediate future, it would be a smart decision to act now from a position of strength.
