Newcastle United and Aston Villa are keeping tabs on Urby Emanuelson's situation at Ajax.

The young fullback has expressed an ambition this week to leave Ajax in January in the wake of interest from Roma.

Newcastle and Villa have been following Emanuelson for the past year and are expected to make their interest concrete should Ajax indicate a willingness to sell.
