Jack Butland was the standout performer as Stoke City claimed a valuable point on the road against Newcastle United.
The Magpies were closest to breaking the deadlock when Aleksander Mitrovic hit the woodwork with a header in the first half.
Butland twice denied Moussa Sissoko with impressive saves, before showing stunning athleticism to tip Jamaal Lascelles header over the crossbar in the dying stages of the contest.
The result leaves Newcastle stuck in the relegation zone, while currently sit in 14th place on the Premier League ladder.

TALKING POINTS
Newcastle fiery Serbian striker Mitrovic found himself in hot water yet again, after being booked card for an incident with Stoke's Philipp Wollscheid. It was Mitrovic's third yellow card of the campaign, in addition to a sending off earlier in the campaign.
Stoke boss Mark Hughes will be encouraged by a number of aspects of his team's play, in particular the work of Butland. Newcastle probably would have won the contest if it were not for the superb Butland thwarting their efforts time and time again.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Newcastle travel to Bournemouth on Saturday, while Stoke host Chelsea at the Britannia Stadium.
