Newcastle United are highly unlikely to make a move for James Maddison this winter.
That is according to The Telegraph, with the report stating that the Magpies are not prepared to meet Leicester City's asking price for the player.
Maddison is currently at the World Cup with England, while his creativity has impressed in the Premier League this season as well.
While the midfielder does have a great relationship with Newcastle United trio Callum Wilson, Nick Pope and Kieran Trippier from their time with England, a transfer seems unlikely to happen midseason.
Leicester are only just working their way up the table, while Maddison is their main creative star.
If he does move, the summer is more likely, and other clubs are likely to join the race and create a bidding war.
