Newcastle U21s have defeated Notts County in the Checkatrade Trophy clash.

The young side endured a difficult game, but came away with a 2-0 away win.

It was the second clash of their group, which has now put them within touching distance of the last 32.

Newcastle must avoid losing at Grimsby Town and they will make it to the next phase.

Goals from Cal Roberts and Elias Sorensen sealed the win for the Magpie youngsters.
