Tom Cairney is too important to Fulham's game plan for him to be sold, says Slavisa Jokanovic.

The Fulham manager also revealed how the club has rejected a bid from Newcastle United for the Scotland international.

"He (Benitez) asked for him and they offered £20m, but we did not let him go.

"He is not for Newcastle, there is no business there, he fits in at Fulham," said Jokanovic to The Independent.

"When the team has problems the ball always goes to him and he keeps it."
