Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles is out of action for the remainder of the year.
The defender suffered knee ligament damage during Saturday's 2-1 win over Bournemouth when he collided with goalkeeper Martin Dubravka in the opening minutes.
The Daily Mail says Lascelles will be out of action until January.
The Newcastle boss knows that he has plenty of options to cover for Lascelles, who could be out for the majority of January depending on how well his rehabilitation goes.
The continued absence of Fabian Schar with a knee injury is a concern but Ciaran Clark, Federico Fernandez and Paul Dummett finished Saturday's game, while Florian Lejeune is also back in contention after a lengthy layoff.
