Newcastle striker Callum Wilson admits momentum is with them.

Newcastle beat Everton 1-0 in midweek and while Wilson didn't get in on the goalscoring act, he said confidence is flowing.

"At the minute it's weird to say but you feel like you are going to out and win most games," he said. "That's when you know you are in a good place physically and mentally. And I think the team is going in the right direction. You give the manager great credit and you know if we keep clean sheets we have a chance."

And as Newcastle prepare to take on Spurs on Sunday, Wilson insisted there is plenty of room for improvement after a narrow win against Everton.

Wilson said: "It's not where we feel our performances should and could be but I think we got above. We fought and scored a goal at a great time. Our overall performance was top notch."
