Newcastle United striker Dwight Gayle is holding up a swap deal with West Brom.

The Daily Mail says the proposed swap deal between Newcastle and West Brom for Salomon Rondon and Gayle has hit an impasse.

Negotiations had been centring on two loans with both becoming permanent at the end of the season.

Wages had also been discussed but Gayle in particular is understood to have reservations about the prospect of giving up a Premier League chance for the Championship.
