Newcastle United striker Elias Sorensen is a target for Blackpool.

The Evening Chronicle says Blackpool have enquired about the possibility of signing Sorensen on loan for the second half of the season.

The 19-goal striker signed a new contract this week and has is now set for international duty with Denmark Under-21s but Newcastle have yet to sanction his exit in the January window.

Sorensen picked up an ankle knock in the Checkatrade Trophy defeat at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday evening.

Newcastle also had interest from Gateshead for Sorensen's signature while Hartlepool United scout Tommy Miller senior has scouted the youngster extensively this term.
