Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll is struggling to get back to full fitness.
The veteran was not involved in the 1-1 draw against Wolves the past weekend, while he is likely to miss the West Ham United clash on Saturday as well.
Carroll signed for the Magpies this summer after being released by the Hammers.
He is still recovering from ankle surgery in March, but it appears he has suffered a setback in his progression.
The Evening Standard suggests it may be due to a groin problem he picked up against Chelsea this month.
The 30-year-old has played four Premier League games this season, all as a substitute, without scoring a goal.
