Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren said his side are still hopeful of completing a deal for Anderlecht's Congolese defender Chancel Mbemba.
The Magpies have agreed both personal terms and a transfer fee for the 20-year-old, however are waiting to hear from the Football Association regarding Mbemba obtaining a VISA.
"When the right players are available, we'll get them, and we have done that," McClaren said of his side's transfer policy, which has seen them sign highly rated pair Georginio Wijnaldum and Alexsandar Mitrovic this summer.
"Mbemba ... we'll try to secure the visa to join us as well.
"We hope they can settle in quickly and adapt to the Premier League.
"The sooner we get them in, the better."
