Espanyol chief Mao Ye has opened the door to selling Raul de Tomas this summer.
The Spain centre-forward has been linked with a move to England, where Newcastle and Tottenham have been mentioned as potential suitors.
Mao said, "It was a great financial and sporting bet.
"He was a great player but he didn't give an optimal performance in other teams. The best version of RdT has been seen here. Espanyol took him to the National Team. We are happy, he is a great asset.
"He is an important piece but there are many important pieces in the team, they must be taken care of, they must be pillars and take them into account.
"Our idea is for him to continue scoring more goals here. €70m could be a good figure to continue building the team. I can't speculate. There is nothing on the table."
