Nice winger Allan Saint-Maximin was the subject of major interest from England over the summer, it has been revealed.
The Evening Chronicle says Newcastle made an offer for Saint-Maximin in the summer.
The report claims Newcastle and Sevilla made an offer for the 21-year-old, but the midfielder chose to stay with Patrick Vieira's OGCN.
Liverpool were also looking at him before they signed Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City.
