The Magpies' last bid for the Danish striker was £15million but Feyenoord are holding out for up to £20million for their 10-goal top scorer.
Feyenoord want to keep their main marksman, but would cash in if their valuation is met.
Speaking to Voetbal Magazine, Giovanni Van Bronkhorst said: "I would obviously like Jorgensen to stay with Feyenoord.
“He is such an important player.
“I know talks are going on. I am waiting for information from Martin van Geel. It is an awesome league and it would be a different stage for Nicolai.
“But he is dependent on the club's decision."
