Newcastle United are seeking a discount on the permanent option price for Nabil Bentaleb.

The midfielder arrived on-loan in January from Schalke, with the option to sign outright for €10m.

However, BILD says Newcastle hope to negotiate down that figure before June 30.

Either way, Schalke are determined to sell Bentaleb, knowing there are other options should Newcastle talks fall through.

The former Tottenham midfielder has interest from China, Saudi Arabia and Russia.
