Aston Villa have jumped ahead of Newcastle United in the battle for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson.
The Evening Chronicle says Newcastle are facing stiff competition for Wilson after Aston Villa made a £15million offer for the England international.
Wilson wants to leave AFC Bournemouth after the club we're relegated from the Premier League in July.
United are believed to have spoken to the player's agent Will Salthouse about a swap deal with Matt Ritchie plus cash.
But Ritchie is torn about a move back to the South Coast after signing a new contract with the Magpies earlier this year.
Wilson is desperate to make the move to the Premier League again, and Villa are trying to push in front of Newcastle to get a deal done.
