Newcastle's Pardew expecting big things from new boy Janmaat

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is expecting Daryl Janmaat to have an extremely positive impact at the club.

The 24-year old Dutch right-back has joined the Magpies form Feyenoord on a six-year deal and the St James' Park manager is confident he will bring some real quality to the north east.

"We are delighted to bring Daryl to the Club," Pardew told the club's official website.

"He is the perfect example of a modern full-back; someone who is good defensively but offers a real threat going forward as well.

"Daryl had an excellent World Cup and we are looking forward to him continuing that form for Newcastle."

Former Heerenveen star Janmaat, who has made 21 appearances for Holland, joins Newcastle after playing 74 times over two seasons for Feyenoord.
