Newcastle United boss Joe Kinnear has denied all reports that he has been linked with the Sunderland job.

Media reports have said that the interim Magpies boss will take the reins at the Stadium of Light but Kinnear insists it's all nonsense.

"It's the saga thing living up here, it's never-ending, isn't it?, he said.

"You're a mischievous lot, aren't you? You are not happy unless you are giving me a kick in the cobblers, are you?

"Someone has been having a bit too much sherry already."
