Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback has been ruled for six weeks due to a knee injury he suffered in last weekend's 3-0 defeat against Sunderland.
A club statement has confirmed that the 26-year-old's injury is not as serious as initially feared.
Newcastle's official statement on the matter read: "Jack Colback will be sidelined for up to six weeks with a knee injury, following further scans and assessment on Thursday.
"The injury is not as bad as first feared."
