Newcastle United have options beyond Michael Emenalo in their search for a director of football hire.

It's been claimed former Monaco and Chelsea football chief Emenalo has pulled out of negotiations with Newcastle, though Toon chiefs have denied the story.

Meanwhile, Foot Mercato says Ramon Planes is another prospect being explored by Newcastle.

Planes has just resigned from Barcelona and isn't short of offers.

Newcastle, Valencia and PSG are all interested in Planes, who isn't expected to remain out of football for long.
